He did not know(or would not say) the maker of this engine, but did say this engine was easier to order parts for because it is within the Gravely parts list as opposed to other engine brands, for what that's worth. I did talk to my Gravely parts/service guy to see if they had air filters/oil filters in stock for this engine, which they did. One store said they had no idea, second store said it was built by Subaru, the 3rd store said it was " a Chinese knock off of a Japanese engine"(he was probably the most correct) It is funny though that I called 3 different Gravely stores, regarding the make of this engine, and received 3 different answers from the sales staff.
